Fein vs German Metabo corded grinder?

Why do you not use them anymore? Interested in where they fall short compared to electric corded (obviously cordless is handy away from the shop).

Well to tell you the truth I am not sure. There was a period of time I was not using them (years) and I must have seen a electric angle grinder and thought I would try it and never looked back.

Is it not having to do the maintenance for the air lines or are the electric ones more comfortable? (I’ve been wanting to get my hands on an air grinder and try it but I currently have no experience with them)

I think for small stuff electric is better 4.5-5" size. But its probably more as to what your use to. I have 4 corded grinders all plugged in to the same outlet and the corded are always getting twisted around each other.

better have a bad to the bone 2 stage air compressor with a minimum 80 gallon tank. if you are back and forthing between your plasma cuter and an air driven grinder, I doubt the air compressor would keep up. Those body shops that run all those air tools have industrial grade compressors, often time expensive screw type compressors.

I worked at several body shops and knew others that did also. I am pretty sure they all used reciprocating compressors. As in body shops air usage is up and down.
Most times screws compressors are used in factories with machinery running, using a pretty constant amount of air.
I have a 7.5HP name brand compressor with a 80 gal tank and it will run my plasma table and smaller air grinder fine.
I don’t normally do may cuts on my plasma table that last more than 15mins.

The true test for a compressor is running a blast cabinet for 30-45 mins straight. At that point mine all most run continuous.
I think the brand of compressor, is just important as the size as there are a lot of cheap offshore compressors being sold, and most are junk
