As a new member, I’m kind of feeling my way around here and trying to get the hang of things.
The default color scheme is fairly pleasant, with a dark greenish background and white text. But I’ve noticed that hyperlinks don’t show up as anything.
For instance, I just posted in the big abrasives test thread, and I hyperlinked 2 of the tests on the YouTube page for two brands. But you cannot see that these are actual hyperlinks in the post unless you actually move your mouse cursor over the text. This is kind of… I don’t want to say annoying, but it doesn’t really help draw attention to the fact that a user has gone to the trouble to add in embedded links to a particular page to help readers find the content under discussion.
I’m not a programmer, so I don’t know all the ins and outs of making the forum usable and not ‘breaking’ things by trying to change small tidbits - but I think under the default color scheme, making hyperlinked text something like a yellow font (or even better, bold yellow) might make it easier to see where users have the opportunity to jump to linked content.
I also tried to make my text yellow in the above paragraph, but while I can bold, italicize, I can’t underline or change a font color. Is this functionality that would be easy to enable for users/posters?
Just trying to add suggestions that I think may help.
Thanks for providing this forum! Please don’t think I am complaining, far from it, just hoping to be able to make things easier and more ergonomic, maybe? Thanks!
