I’m collecting some data and could use a few volunteers
I’m looking for 9 of you from the fabrication community to weld a simple shape, and willing to video it for the data collection. I’ll send you all the parts, drawings, and cover the shipping. Just use your own tools to put it together.
This project wouldn’t take more than a couple hours in total, and I’ll make it worth your time.
If you’re interested, please drop a comment down below, and to increase the chances of getting selected for this, it would be helpful to include some photos of the tools you’d use.
I know you probably have a lot of questions and I wish I could tell you what it’s all about, but we’re all gonna have some fun with this.
We are a fabrication shop in Northern Arizona that focuses on interior and exterior handrails, but continue to take on structural and artistic work as we grow. Our shop may be small in size, but we focus on accuracy and providing an end product we can be proud of. Here’s a few photos of our shop interior.

Jason,
I would love to see what we can pull off for you. We don’t have a large fixture table but we do have lots of your tooling to aid in precision work. I am new to the forum and not sure how to post pics here but I did comment on the IG post where you can see a lot of our content.
Hey Jason I’d be interested. I’m a small shop that does mostly full restomods and hot rod builds. But I also do welding and fabrication, my shop is on my dairy so we constantly do ag related repairs and fab. I have a Sigmund 28 5x10, Miller mig and tig capabilities, cnc plasma table. Etc. Sounds like a fun project.
Hi Jason, Please consider me for this date collection.
I’m a one man shop, started not long ago and still have a lot to learn. I recently got a kovosu welding table that I would use. My main welder is the miller 215. I have an assorted amount of different sanders and grinders. I mostly do repairs and small fabrication jobs out of my garage. I do some mobile work as well. Im located in Lynnwood WA. Would be happy to make video and document my process. Thank you for the consideration.
Proud Fabrication would love to participate in this experiment/challenge. We have two dragon wagons put together and use a wide range of fireball tools, clamps, and fixtures. We do a lot of offroad fabrication and also commercial wedlments. Take a look at some examples below! Please consider us to be a part of this experiment as we want to grow i this community as well as continue to grow and learn! Thanks!
Hi Jason,
I would love to participate in the data collection. I do general fabrication on just about everything and I also do pipe and structural welding. Mig, tig and arc welding. I use a lot of your squares and fixtures and have a stronghand fab table @dtb_fabrication is my Instagram
Yooo I would love to help out Jason! IG is B_of_dave I’m an everyday fabricator and specialize in custom signs here in Jackson ms. You can reach me with ease at dboykinwelding@gmail.com thanks for the opportunity brother.Processing: IMG_2115.jpeg…
Fairly new small business fabrication and blacksmithing. I use mostly home made tools which I think would be a good addition to the pool. Homemade welding table with ½in plate top and ⅜plate bottom with Lazer cut hole layout. I use mostly Lazer cut layout squares and F clamps that pass through the table top. Drop band saw and belt sander and angle grinder for most of the cutting.
This would be a really cool opportunity to participate in this! I would love to upgrade some of my tools one day to fireball stuff but for now it’s on a budget and I’d love to see how mine stack up against the pro stuff.
I would love to participate if chosen. I work in a small shop but after the owners retire i’m looking to branch off on my own. We have a lot of tools set up for all kinds of railings/fencing/stairs, as well as power hammers and forging tools.
Heyo! Clay with ModDustrial here! Sounds fun. Let’s Go! We have some Fireball Squares, plasma table, shop made slated fixture tables. Thank you for the opportunity!
