Wondering if anybody has thoughts on this:
Supposedly an all-in-one laser welder, cutter, rust remover and CNC platform.
I think it looks pretty cool from a quick read through of their web page, however a few thoughts do come to mind:
- Gee whiz tech but with capacity limits: does this become like a cheap welder which doesn’t have enough umph to do the work you want to do?
- Quite a bit more expensive than a cheap welder though…
- 10K hour life-span on the laser, but will it really last that long. Contact us for replacement costs…
Seems like if your work would fit within its capacity and if it holds up, that it would be a pretty cool addition to a smaller shop. Personally my primary concern is initial cost + cost to repair (lifetime costs), a business can plan for and absorb these better than I can as a hobbyist.
