What size chamfer should I use after drill all my holes?
You can choose, it’s not a critical dimension. It helps prevent hole deformation and clamp pin damage. The thickness of the table top comes into play also. A thin top don’t recommend going very deep.
My table thickness is 3/4. I was curious what diameter chamfer I should use. I do not plan to go deep, just enough to create a lead in and reduce the edge.
By the way….. I love your tools. Please keep developing and improving on what you have created.
I use 1 1/4. But something like this might be handy.
This is my go-to tool for chamfering large holes and edges. I also use a carbide indexable router bit, which works especially well when there’s a lot of flat surface area, like on a table. These mini air chamfer tools have adjustable depth, and I’ve run countless parts through mine. It keeps the chamfer perfectly consistent, perpendicular to the hole, and is very fast.
I’m planning to get the drill jig and a 1”+ plate for a table in the near future. I have a lot of other Fireball tools, and they’ve all been great.
