Ever notice how the numbers and letters on the edge of the fixture table kind of disappear when you’re looking from afar? Don’t worry, I’m going to show you a trick on how you can make those numbers and letters pop out!
Here’s where you start: I grabbed some one-shot enamel paint. There are lots of colors to choose from, like gold, blue, white, yellow etc. For this table, I went with a red color for this table.
Once I have the color of my choosing, I pour just a spoonful into a plastic cup and thin it slightly with mineral spirits. As well as a piece of cardboard to catch up any spills.
The next step to this trick is to use the back end of a paintbrush. The back stays in the track. It rides perfectly in the recessed cavity of the table scale.
Once the paint and mineral spirits are mixed, run the back of the paintbrush along the track. Don’t worry about being perfect, any extra paint we’ll clean up later.
Let it dry for a few hours.
To clean up the excess paint, take a razor blade and gently scrape off the paint.
Here is the result: It’s clean, crisp, bright numbers that you can read from one side of the table to the other. And if the paint ever gets damaged, it’s easy to scrape it out and redo.
Hopefully, this guide will help you read the side of your table scale. Do you guys want to see me paint the grid lines of my table top? Comment down below!
