Fixture for round rod to square or rectangular tube

I send a message on Instagram today about a fixture set up for a round rod or tube 1” or larger into square tube . I’m including a photo .

Here’s the post.

I would probably use the 3 axis square if the pin needed to sit flush on the back side.

The rod would be in the center of the square or rectangle tube .

I would fixture the tube sideways on the table and use the v blocks from Fireball tooling kit to support the round tube. Bring the rectangular tube to proper elevation with the magnetic shims.

The problem with that setup is you can’t fully weld it out in the fixture. It would be a tack and remove the part setup. It’s beneficial to limit the number of touches on the part. It speeds the process up.

I would use the mega square. This gives you 2 reference points on the OD of the round rod.
Put it on top of a couple fence blocks to get some extra height.
