Fixture table projects

Etched/engraved too. Super nice.

Can I ask why the hole center is 3” from the edges?

I know we chatted at one point about how precise a fixture would need to be to make an accurate table. Looks like you decided to go pro level and have it machined. I don’t think you’ll regret that.

If you don’t mind me asking for anyone who’s wondering, what did 1200 holes and an engraving job cost you?

8 foot x 5 foot x 5/8 , the other sheets I have are 1 inch and 1/2 inch so decided to split the middle and use the 5/8 inch. I don’t have a base built yet either, I’m kinda cyphering on the material I have laying around. I have a big rolling over head crane a guy gave me that doesn’t fit in my shop, was thinking of useing that too I beam for the frame. What’s y’all’s thoughts on laying side was ( like and H) and starting the holes so it doesn’t interfere with them? I need to clips up a measure it but looks like 6 inch flange x 1/4 inch thick?

Well I looked at making a drill guide big enough to do this size table and by the time you purchase all drill guide bushings, have the guide machined, I think I was going to have close to 2K into it. Plus the cost of annular cutters and time to drill the holes, trying to flip the sheet to countersink backside. Plus I would have no way to square the perimeter.

1288 Holes, countersinking, scribing, squaring outer perimeter $5800 plus
Plate $870 delivered

I did think about trying to countersink myself, than slapped myself and said no your an idiot for evening thinking you can do that!

I will say the holes being .625 are just a touch tight, They could have been a .001 bigger. I can always do that later

Wow, nice looking table top! I really like the scribed lines too! I’d like to see after a year or so how useful you feel they are.

Well I am wondering the same thing. Im not sure if I just got them becuse other tables have them or if I will find a use for them. I may find they were a waste of money.

Are we not gonna talk at all about the DIY tables Fireball offers now?! as I have had the jig for 5 months now and drilled only two 4 foot rows of holes, combined the cost of the annular cutter, the jig, and the Weldon MT X-O, I would have 100% just bought this one! oh well what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger…or something along those lines…

On that note, can we get a little better look at the strap system you are using to secure the plate to the DIY frame?!

Who are these directed at?

any body that wants to listen?! I mean seems like a pretty big deal and haven’t even seen a video talking about it? I would think he is gonna sell a pile of these!

I just realized today that I never posted my weld cart after I finished it. It is all aluminum with laser cut bottle brackets.

If only someone made a super handy table with a ton of useful intuitive fixtures, I wouldn’t have to rig up stuff like this!:joy::joy::joy::joy:……

Man the Trenton to detail! So ho much time do you recon the dragon wagon nocked off the build?

Honestly probably a full days worth of work. I only get about 4-6 hours a night in my shop after work and often have plenty of other things going on for either myself or customers. Actually i think we were rebuilding an ISX in an 389 peterbilt, so this took me a couple days to build going back and forth. Putting it into cad saves a ton. I mean everything fits very tight and that’s exactly how i wanted it. I also hung some race trailer accessories from Pit Posse and that’s where i store my small map gas, extra consumables, and paper towels. I’ll drop a few more pics today. I believe i posted it on my fab page on Facebook @ Lava-Torch Fabrication if you want to check it out there.
