I recently acquired a 2uvr Tree mill and I only have a handful of Z collets. Is there a way to convert to a more standard collet style? Thanks in advanced
Don’t know if it is possible to convert the spindle nose to accept a different collet, but would suggest you ask that question at the Practical Machinist. Even if possible, modifying a spindle nose would seem to me a pretty serious endeavor & require a fair bit of precision to wind up with a worthwhile machine. The Z collets are still available https://www.universaldevlieg.com/shop/category/111-3-4-capacity-double-taper-collets

Another option would just be a straight shank collet chuck.
I’ve seen people use a 3/4" collet and holders like this both for flexibility and repeatable tool measurements.
