I really suck at using a chop saw

I really suck at using a chop saw (I’m a hobbyist), by sucking I mean that I struggle to cut to consistent lengths and angles, a carpenter friend of mine told me he uses a stop block on his mitre saw. Does anyone have any suggestions for me on how to build one for my chop saw?

What chop saw do you have?

I’m gonna send a link: https://www.makitatools.com/products/details/LW1401

I hate to be the one to tell ya, but that style of chop saw is going to be very difficult to make accurate cuts. I only use that kind for construction use, like steel studs or rebar cutting.

A better chop saw is a Evolution saw. It uses a carbide tip steel blade. It spins slowly and cuts cool with very little sparks. It also cuts miters.

Or this awesome saw

Another option is this saw. I have one
It use to be 800.00 but I guess everything goes up in price. It’s going to be cheaper to maintain because the blades are cheap.
