Hello Jason I think you need to make a removable handle and a little hex on “quick clamp” for convenience when welding complex parts. What do you think about it?
Are you looking for more clearance around the weld area? You might want to look at the cantilever clamps. The low profile keeps the clamp out of the way. Cantilever Clamp - 3/4" System
We try to avoid putting hex’s on screws. The feature gets abused with impacts and large wrench’s that overload the design of the clamp. The handle is an engineered component to protect the tool and give it long life. The problem is the hex features get abused then when the tool fails due to misuse Fireball gets blamed. We run into this problem with the Maximus clamps. A removable handle isn’t out of the question though.
