Have you guys seen this new video where Jason showcases the new Fireball Tool Lumber Maximus Clamps? (Video releases 7/5/25 at 6 A.M. PDT)
Introducing the Lumber Maximus Clamp — a heavy-duty wood clamp that uses a standard 2x4 as the bar.
No more lugging around pipe clamps when you’re working in the field. Just toss a couple Maximus clamps in your bag, and grab a 2x4 when you get to the job site.
What I like about the Lumber Maximus Clamps
-
Works with standard 2x4s — which are easy to find anywhere.
-
Tool-less assembly with a snap-fit spindle.
-
Three-sided design grips securely, even on cupped or warped boards.
-
Optional bolt/screw/nail fastening for semi-permanent use — great if you’re up on a ladder or in a man basket.
-
Spreader mode — flip the clamp around and it works in reverse.
-
Stashes neatly in your toolbox — no long metal pipes to store.
This clamp’s design builds on the previous Maximus line (the ones that fit over 1x2 tubing and flat bar)
But solves the “what if I don’t have that material on hand?” problem. The answer? Just find a 2x4.
Trust me, I still love pipe clamps and the original Maximus Clamps, but being able to slap these on a 2x4 is just so convenient.
I put it through its paces in the video, so check it out if you want to see how it assembles, grips, and clamps with real pressure.
Got questions? Ideas? Feedback? Drop them here — I’ll be checking in and happy to chat more about the design and where it’s headed.
Thanks for reading—and as always, you can check out the New Lumber Clamps and the rest of the Maximus Clamp lineup over at the Fireball Tool website.
