What do you use more in a vise? The maximum opening or throat depth? For me the max opening is more useful.

taking time to actually think about this, seems every time i’ve had a problem with my current vise it was maximum opening trying to get ahold of something that was to big to be in My old vise in the first place. I have a Reed C3 Machinist vise, and a Reed 105R. they have served me well, but I would trade at least on finger for a Fireball 6 inch!
