I noticed a very similar detail. Though I really was happy to see the grinder and the watler anti spatter spray bottle appearing dirty from use! I like having all my pin’s in something like your top plate It is nice for visual reference, magnetic trays for the screws and I only keep the allen keys I need for the table with the table supplies. I know lots of guys like those open cart designs, They are not my favorite as they fill up with debris from shop work i.e. grinding dust, drill shavings, etc. All the same I do appreciate the effort to make it flowy for each persons needs.
