I have a number of Fireball Tool products and I am impressed with their quality and functionality. But, my 1826 Combination Square is a disappointment. Actually, I spent $75 for a tool that I can not use. Why, because the blade will not lock securely to the head. I have fiddled with it and no matter what I try it will not lock. Friends have also tried with no success. From what I can see, the slot is too wide but the problem could be something else. To test this theory I assembled the square with a thin plastic shim and that tightened the clearance to the point where the blade was held securely. But that is a demonstration and not a fix. I am outside the 60 day return window and I am resigned to eat this one but I do think that others with this problem need to be awair of my experience.
Not a problem just call customer service. Will replace it
