Camel Back/Bridge Style Straight Edge (New Tool Suggestion)

I’ve been hunting for an affordable Camel Back style straight edge without much luck besides being able to find raw castings…after using my set of 12” Clamping square fixtures from my BP table bolted together I thought I might drop the suggestion of a Fireball Tool style camel back straight edge (with edge tabs!).

With a little thicker base on the “working” side I would think a 18” or 24” straight edge styled square would complement the Combination Square greatly.

Outside of the creation of a new product anyone have suggestions on where to find a new production camel back straight edges that are ready to go (for less than $1k) ?

Not a camelback style, but as a very precise straight edge, I purchase long planner blades (eBay) and the back ends make great straight edges. I have blades as long as 36”. Yes, you have to be careful of the sharp front edge, but that comes in handy some times also (at least for wood projects). They are inexpensive, and again, the accuracy is usually right on. The 36” long has a width of about 3”, so these are substantial. Always in HSS, I have not tried to weld them for handles, etc. Probably beyond my MIG’s and my ability.
