DIY Pedestal for a Roper Whitney 20

Anyone have any examples of how they mounted a manual hole punch? I have an old Roper Whitney 20 i need to mount . Been cyphering on a way to have small “Floating table” to allow for work holding, roper whitney Makes one for a different model of course. Will most probably just mimic it, but thought I would see if anyone had a slick set up that worked

Hi Murph, I don’t have a punch like that, but I’ve recently gotten an old Di-Acro finger brake (a little one) that I wanted to mount on the FB table, so a similar problem perhaps: the casting holes don’t line up with the table. My solution was to mimic the FB designs and make 1" thick adapter plates with 3/4" holes for the FB pins and then drill & tap for whatever makes sense for the casting. I had some 1x2 hot rolled on hand so made a couple of adapter plates to mount it.

Now there’s a good idea. Use my template to drill a small “table” then could use pins and the adjustable stops ( can Remember what he calls them) to set up repeat work. As well as general hold down with clamps. Awesome thing about this forum, outside advice. To change out the bottom die the table will need to be removable, should’ve able to mount it on 4 threaded studs to level it. I may jump right on this when I get home, will try to post some pics if it works, ( right after I weld new tongue on a local farmers water level! Thinking of changing name of shop from Gringo ironworks to "Murph’s Charity fabrication and consulting"

I did the same thing to make the mount for my tapping arm, I made it to mount to the Fireball table or clamp to my Tigerstop CNC fence.
