I’ve been unpacking my dragon wagon today and setting it up. While unpacking there were some thicker bits of grease ( or whatever the stuff is ) that was on the table.
So of course I thought ah great. I have just the tool and decided to use the scraper.
While using the scraper with one hand and just the weight of the tool sliding on the table I noticed it making marks. On closer inspection I could see shiny metal
surely this can’t be ???
I mean, if the scraper takes off the coating while removing the packaging residue surely it would be worse with any weld splatter !!
felling very upset as spent months saving for this and paying some huge import taxes to get it now to see it’s already got issues and not even finished setting it up yet, let alone using it for any welding
Jason if you see this could you help
Is the surface of the dragon wagon not suitable for use with the scraper ? I was under the impression that the dragon scale was practically indestructible
The fireball scraper is a hardened tool steel blade. It can easily cut metal if you want it to. If I’m going to use it on a table surface I blunt or round over the cutting edge of the blade. I’ll blunt it with the belt grinder. Small scratches, are going to be cosmetic and won’t affect the performance of the table. All fixture table brands will see cosmetic wear and tare throughout their lifetime. Avoid grounding through the table because this will cause the most damage to the surface from arching.
Ok brilliant. Thank you very much for getting back to me.
So in relation to those spots on the top where bare metal is visable are you saying that these will be fine? Also as I mentioned toned before I have only unpacked this and set it up. ( still trying to figure out shelves ) I have yet to actually try it out
