Ever been stuck trying to position a part just right on a fixture table, only to find you’re locked in? This is a trick we use all the time with the Fireball Table System.

Let us walk you through a common scenario: You’ve got a piece of 1x1 tubing locked in place on your fixture table. It’s solid and not going anywhere.
Now, you want to bring in another piece like a 1x2 tube and hold it in a very specific location next to that 1x1. However, here’s the issue. When you drop in a fixture, it’s not in the right spot. The tube doesn’t even touch it. You’re stuck between grid holes, and it just won’t line up.
You can only have the movement of 2-inch increments, left or right. That’s not helpful when you need precise positioning. So what can you do?
Here’s where the Fireball Tool system comes in handy. The Fireball Twist Block makes it so that I can extend my riser out to the side for more versatility. You can find it over at the Fireball Tool website
Now you’re not locked into the 2-inch grid anymore. You can slide the riser along the table’s surface just like any other fixture, adjusting it in both the X and Y directions.
That gives you fine-tuned control, making it easy to get your material right where you need it to be.
This is something I run into all the time, so next time you’re setting up a fixture and frustrated by the limitations of your grid, remember this little trick. Flip your riser block, slide it into place, and dial it in.
The Fireball table system is a real time-saver when you’re chasing accuracy.
